Sagittarius - The Archer

Always had an ambivalence for centaur art, since I don't always see the best blend of human and horse anatomy. What I kind of like about here, though, is that the anatomy of the front legs of the horse looks like a continuation of the human's hips, though it's a little odd to see a horse with a mane like a lion, even if it's a mythical horse hybrid.

What I mainly look for in centaur art is the feeling that the creature could operate on a realistic level. Here, it appears that the front legs would do well walking like a human, but I wouldn't know about how the back legs would catch up. Not to mention I couldn't see her doing a feasible gallop for long, unless she had a flexible enough spine.

Like always, though, your environment-building has a dreamy, storybook-like quality. I especially like the colorations of the river. It would still be a good idea to study the way your stock is lit, so that like-lit elements would match, thus making your work look less like a studio-lit shot with multiple lights, and more like an environmental piece.
